This past weekend we went to the Central Festival mega mall to see Alice in Wonderland in 3D and thought we would treat ourselves to one of the luxury theaters available. For about $3 USD you can get a ticket to any movie in a theater that is similar to most standard theaters in the states. For about $15 USD you have the option of sitting in either of the VIP theaters.
We chose to buy seats in the indoor/outdoor Porch theater that was highly recommended by friends. Three walls are completely inclosed like a traditional theater, but the third is an open wall facing the ocean to enjoy the view before the film starts. As the previews begin to play a massive velvet curtain encloses the area.
Instead of seats, you are assigned to massive lounge chairs and couches with blankets that give you the feel of watching a movie outdoors. The staff provides complimentary cocktails, beverages, and an assortment of different flavored popcorns throughout the movie.
The downside to this seating arrangement comes with being too comfortable. Crazy right? Falling asleep is much easier when you are laying down with pillows and a blanket than sitting up.
